The online casino industry is expecting a significant increase raise in mobile gambling over the next five years, a study from Juniper Research has revealed.
Mobile gamblers are expected to wager $100 billion annually on their favorite online casino games by 2017 according to the study.
The trend of mobile betting has been rising upwards for several years, with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power reporting a 40 per cent increase in mobile sports wagers placed via a mobile device.
Christopher Griffin, chief executive at Betable, described the increase in tablet and smart phone technology as a major step forward for the online gambling industries. Mr. Griffin added: “This is the biggest opportunity that game developers have had since the advent of the internet.”
Some gambling establishments are already pushing their chips into the middle of the table, with companies such as William Hill and BetFair already utilizing iPhone applications. Dozens of other casinos are more likely to follow suit within the next 12 months.
